Can Centene employees work remotely?
The answer is yes, but not everywhere.
The company is considering remote work for some employees, but it hasn’t decided yet.
Centene’s CEO and president, Mark Bertolini, said in an interview with the Kansas City Star that the company is considering remote work for some employees.
“We’re looking at that. We’re looking at the possibility of being able to work remotely,” Bertolini said. “We’re going to make sure that it’s something that we can do and that it’s something that we can do well.”
The company has about 5,000 employees.
Bertolini said he’s been in touch with employees to hear their opinions about working from home.
“We’ve had a lot of people ask about it. A lot of people say, ‘Well, I’m not sure that’s the right thing for me,’” he said. “There’s a lot of people who say, ‘I love working from home,’ and I’m one of them.”
Bertolini said he wants to make sure the company can “scale” and that it can “support” working remotely.
How do you describe working remotely?
The answer is much the same as it is for working from home. The difference is that you have to make sure you can work from anywhere.
We’ve all been there. You’re trying to get a project done, and you’re in the middle of an intense coding session. You’re so focused on the task at hand that you don’t notice the time passing by.
Suddenly, it’s lunchtime, and you’re still working. You’re so engrossed in what you’re doing that you forget to eat.
Then it’s bedtime. You’re still working. You’re so focused on what you’re doing that you don’t notice the time passing by.
You wake up the next morning, and you’re still working.
It’s time to stop working.
This is a problem that many remote workers face.
It’s not the only problem, though. Remote workers have a lot of other things to worry about, such as the following:
No office hours
No lunch breaks
No in-person meetings
