Is it possible to get hired remotely at Duke Energy?
The company has been hiring remote workers for years. It’s not that easy.
Duke Energy is one of the nation’s largest energy companies, with a market cap of $44.5 billion and annual revenue of $53.2 billion. It employs more than 80,000 people in North Carolina, and it’s one of the nation’s largest employers of engineers.

“We don’t have a policy that says you have to be a home-based worker,” said Stephanie Burrows, a Duke Energy spokeswoman. “We have a policy that says we want to have a diverse workforce, and we’ve been hiring people from a variety of backgrounds.”
Burrows said the company has hired remote workers for years, and she said the company has seen an increase in its use of remote workers in recent years.
“We’ve seen a lot of growth in the number of remote workers that we’re hiring,” Burrows said.
She said the company has hired remote workers in various positions, including engineering, finance, IT and human resources.
