Do you still pay property tax after house is paid off?

by michael on August 21, 2013

I’m considering buying a house, and I’m curious if the property tax is paid after the house is paid off.
I’ve read that the property tax is paid by the owner.
I’m assuming that means that if I’m the owner of the house, I’m still responsible for the property tax?
My understanding is that the property tax is paid by the owner of the property. If you are the owner of a house, you are still responsible for the property tax, even if you sell the house.
I’m trying to figure out if I’ll be able to deduct the property tax on my taxes.
Comments
I’m not sure if I understand the question. If you are the owner of the house, you are still responsible for the property tax.

If you are not the owner of the house, then you are not responsible for the property tax.
You are correct.
